03 How We Collect It
We collect personal information in the following ways:
- Directly from you — when you create an account, complete your profile, post a brief, submit an application, or contact us

We will not use your personal information for purposes other than those described above without your consent, unless required or permitted by law.
Marketing Communications
With your consent, we may send you marketing emails about GigLink products, features, and news. You can opt out at any time by clicking "Unsubscribe" in any email or by contacting us at support@giglink.io. Opting out of marketing does not affect transactional or account-related communications.
05 Who We Share It With
GigLink does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share personal information in the following circumstances:
Between Platform Users
When an Expert is shortlisted for a Brief, their profile information — including name, credentials, specialisations, rates, and pitch video — is shared with the relevant Business. Businesses' Brief details are shared with matched Experts. Both parties understand and consent to this sharing as part of using the platform.
Third Party Service Providers
We share personal information with trusted service providers who assist us in operating the platform, including:
- Payment processors — to handle invoicing and payment transactions securely
- Identity and credential verification services — to verify Expert qualifications
- Cloud storage and hosting providers — to store platform data securely
- Email and communications platforms — to deliver account and platform notifications
- Analytics providers — to understand how the platform is used
- Legal and accounting advisors — where required for compliance or dispute resolution
All third party service providers are required to handle personal information in accordance with our instructions and applicable privacy law. Where required by GDPR or equivalent regulation, we enter into appropriate data processing agreements with these providers.
Legal and Regulatory Requirements
We may disclose personal information where required by law, court order, or regulatory authority in any jurisdiction, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of any person, prevent fraud, or enforce our Terms of Service.
Business Transfers
If GigLink is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred to the acquiring entity. We will notify affected users via email or a platform notice before any such transfer occurs.
06 International Transfers
GigLink operates globally and your personal information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries other than the one in which you reside. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction.
Where we transfer personal information across borders, we take appropriate safeguards to ensure your data remains protected, including:
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) — approved by the European Commission for transfers from the EEA to third countries
- UK International Data Transfer Agreements (IDTAs) — for transfers from the United Kingdom
- Adequacy decisions — where the destination country has been recognised as providing adequate protection
- Binding corporate rules or equivalent contractual protections — for transfers to our service providers
Countries to which we may transfer data include the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, and other countries where our platform and service providers operate. By using the platform, you acknowledge these transfers.
You may request further information about the specific safeguards we have in place for your data transfers by contacting us at support@giglink.io.
07 Data Security
GigLink takes the security of your personal information seriously. We implement a range of technical, administrative, and physical safeguards to protect your data, including:
- Encrypted storage of personal and financial data
- Secure HTTPS connections across the platform
- Restricted staff access to personal information on a need-to-know basis
- Regular security assessments and monitoring
- Secure payment processing through certified payment providers
Despite these measures, no data transmission or storage system is completely secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at support@giglink.io.
Data Breach Response
In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, GigLink will notify affected individuals and the relevant supervisory authority within the timeframes required by applicable law — including within 72 hours under GDPR where required. We maintain an internal breach response procedure to ensure prompt detection, containment, and notification.
08 Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, including to meet legal, accounting, and reporting obligations in the jurisdictions in which we operate.
As a general guide:
- Account information — retained for the duration of your account and for 7 years after closure (for legal and tax compliance purposes)
- Engagement and billing records — retained for 7 years in accordance with financial record-keeping obligations applicable in your jurisdiction
- Vetting and credential documents — retained for the duration of an Expert's registration and for 2 years after account closure
- Communications — retained for 3 years unless required longer for dispute resolution
- Website analytics data — retained in aggregated or anonymised form indefinitely
When personal information is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to securely destroy or permanently de-identify it.
09 Cookies & Tracking
GigLink uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve platform functionality and understand how users interact with our site.
Types of Cookies We Use
| Cookie Type | Purpose |
|---|---|

| Preference | Remember your settings and preferences across visits to improve your experience. |
| Marketing | Used to track the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns and deliver relevant content. Only activated with your consent. |
If you are located in the EEA or UK, we will request your consent before placing non-essential cookies on your device. You may withdraw your consent at any time via your browser settings or our cookie preference centre.
Managing Cookies
You can adjust your browser settings to refuse or delete cookies. Note that disabling essential cookies will affect platform functionality. Most browsers also allow you to see what cookies are set and delete them individually. For more information visit allaboutcookies.org.
Analytics Tools
We use third party analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to collect aggregated usage data. These tools may set their own cookies. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
10 Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have some or all of the following rights in relation to your personal information. GigLink respects and honours these rights globally.
Regional Supplements
EEA & UK users (GDPR / UK GDPR): You have the full suite of rights listed above. Where we rely on legitimate interests as a lawful basis, you have the right to object. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
California residents (CCPA / CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, the right to delete, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information (we do not sell your data), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights.
Australian users (Privacy Act 1988): You have the rights described above in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles. You may also lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
All other users: We apply the same access, correction, deletion, and opt-out rights to all users globally, regardless of jurisdiction, as a baseline standard.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@giglink.io. We will respond within 30 days. In some circumstances we may be unable to fulfil a request — for example, where deletion would prevent us from meeting a legal obligation — and we will explain our reasons clearly if this is the case.
11 Children
The GigLink platform is not directed at or intended for use by children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at support@giglink.io and we will take steps to delete it promptly.
12 Complaints
If you have a concern about how GigLink has handled your personal information, we want to hear from you. Please contact our Privacy Officer in the first instance:

We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and aim to resolve it within 30 days. We will keep you informed of our progress throughout.

This includes the ICO (UK), your national EU supervisory authority (EEA), the OAIC (Australia), or the FTC (USA), among others. Contact details for these authorities are available on their respective websites.
13 Changes to This Policy
GigLink may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements across jurisdictions, or platform features. We will publish any updated Policy on this page with a revised effective date.
Where changes are material, we will notify registered users via email or a prominent notice on the platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
